The Pride Edit

A close‑up selfie of a person outdoors at an event, with short grey hair and a beard, wearing face paint including a small rainbow stripe on the cheek and gold glitter on the face, with people and grass visible in the background.

Peter Fox – cardfactory's Editorial Manager and leader of our Pride group – kicks off Pride Month by choosing his favourite LGBTQ+ cards.

A Pride greeting card featuring a white unicorn with a rainbow mane standing over a rainbow, surrounded by stars and hearts, with bold multicoloured text reading ‘Super Gay & Mega Horny,’ displayed against a green and yellow background.

Super Gay & Mega Horny Unicorn Card

"This beauty was one of our earliest same-sex Valentine's cards! Unicorns were super on-trend at the time, so we paired a fabulous rainbow unicorn with a saucy pun – and it was a huge success! This one spread over social media until we had people in the US asking to buy it. Definitely still one of my faves, if you're looking for something cheeky!"

A Pride greeting card with a colourful paint‑splash background listing identities including ‘Lesbian,’ ‘Gay,’ ‘Bisexual,’ ‘Transgender,’ and ‘Asexual,’ with large black text at the bottom reading ‘Perfect human being’ and ‘#LifeWithoutLabels.’

Perfect Human Being Card

"This was from the first Pride range we did, Life Without Labels. As many people will know, the full LGBTQ+ spectrum includes countless different orientations and gender identities – this was an ambitious attempt to include as many as we could in one card. With a remixed rainbow and a strong message of acceptance, I thought the result came out great!"

A black‑and‑white photographic greeting card showing a person posing while holding a vertical pole in an outdoor fairground setting, with a ‘Hard Rock’ sign and amusement ride visible in the background.

Jonathan Straight Photographic Card

"It's rare we get the chance to use photographs in our LGBTQ+ ranges, so I was thrilled to work with a local photographer, Jonathan Straight. His pictures, taken of people at Pride events, have a beauty and a gritty realness about them. They really showcase the fabulous queerness and diversity of Pride – so this small range of art cards is definitely up in my list!"

A greeting card with horizontal blue, pink and white stripes inspired by the trans pride flag, featuring a white speech bubble with bold black script text reading ‘Hello you,’ displayed against a green and yellow background.

"Hello You" Card

"Part of our newest Pride range, this card is designed for anyone coming out as trans or going through transition. The background is a textured version of the trans Pride flag, paired with a fun greeting – for a person who has finally become who they always were. Simple, but super effective!"

A Pride greeting card featuring an illustrated character holding a protest sign reading ‘Being Queer is a Riot!’, with stylised figures in uniform in the background, displayed against a green backdrop with a yellow surface.

Being Queer is a Riot Card

"I just love this card we did for LGBTQ+ History Month, it's so cool! for anyone who doesn't know, modern Pride events started as a commemoration of the Stonewall Riots in New York in 1969 – when queer people finally rebelled against police brutality. I think it's important to keep a sense of history during Pride – and this super-stylish card does that perfectly!"

A blue Pride greeting card featuring a group illustration of diverse people holding flags and signs, with text reading ‘Who you are is Beautiful & Amazing,’ displayed against a green and yellow background.

Who You Are Is Beautiful & Amazing Card

"And to finish – a gorgeous group of misfits! Many people don't realise that the queer political movement of the 80s included anyone who didn't fit social norms – and to this day, people of colour and those with different abilities are part of the wonderful diversity that we celebrate during Pride! This card shows everyone feeling happy to take up space and celebrate their difference – which is what Pride is all about!"
